There are loads of ways that you or your team can make a big difference for carers. Even a simple idea can be effective if you’ve got the support of friends, family, colleagues or your community.

The most important thing is to make sure you have fun!

Here’s some ideas you could try

  • Organise a coffee morning or bake sale at your school, office or a community venue. Yummy food and a nice bit of chat.
  • Get together with some colleagues for a sponsored 'walk to work'. You're going to work anyway. Why not get some exercise too?
  • Organise a swim with your local pool and ask friends to sponsor you for every length you complete. Get a few a friends together and you might be able to swim the length of the Tyne!
  • Do a sponsored cycle, row or run using the equipment at your gym. Or combine it with a swim and do a virtual triathlon!
  • Contact a local flying school and do a sponsored skydive. It can't be that scary really, can it?
  • Speak to a tutor at school or college about running a non-uniform day or sponsored silence. They'd especially appreciate the sponsored silence.
  • Get together with some friends to do a sponsored litter pick in your local area. Raise money, clean up your community and help the environment.
