Share your story

Have you got something to say that could help others understand the lives of carers and their families? Or perhaps you’ve worked with Carers Trust Tyne and Wear and would like to share your experience? Sharing your story can help in so many ways.

  • It’s an excellent way to raise awareness of the lives that carers lead. It can provide us with the information that we need to campaign for better support for carers and can influence other professionals to improve the services that they deliver.
  • It lets other carers know that they’re not alone. Your story could be both inspiring and reassuring and encourage people to ask for support.
  • You could encourage others to offer their support by sharing the difference that volunteering, fundraising or corporate partnering has made to you and Carers Trust Tyne and Wear.

We welcome stories from carers, supporters, volunteers, staff and professionals. You can see the contributions people have already made on our different blog pages.

How we use your story

As well as sharing your story on our website, we might quote it in our promotional literature, funding bids and reports. We’re occasionally asked by the media if there are carers who would be willing to take part in interviews. We can direct them to your story or we might get in touch with you to ask if you’d like to be interviewed personally.

How to share your story

Click the relevant link below to visit our ‘Share Your Story’ form. We’ll ask you a few questions about yourself and your experiences. After you submit the form, your responses will be sent to a member of our staff who will edit your story together. We’ll get in touch with you to make sure you’re happy before posting it online.
