Community-based services enable you to have a break while the person that you care for is supported to access their local community.

A Carer Support Worker could help them to
access activities such as

  • a walk in the park
  • eating out
  • bowling
  • a shopping trip
  • a visit to the cinema
  • volunteering
  • joining a group or
  • enjoying a hobby

We provide services to clients of all ages, all with very different needs.

There is no limitation regarding age, diagnosis or personal circumstance. We risk assess activities so you can be confident that they’re carried out safely. We’re flexible – it’s about what you and your family need to help you in your caring role.

Sarah's Story

Sarah is in her mid-twenties and has learning disabilities. She has communication difficulties and needs support to maintain her safety while accessing the community. Sarah’s parents both work and struggle to maintain a healthy balance between work, the demands of family life and caring for Sarah. We provided a trained worker to support Sarah to access her local community. Sarah attends Zumba class every Monday evening, followed by tea in the local pub.
