Support us Give to a project Young Carer Health and Wellbeing Programmes Donate Fundraise Being a young carer can be stressful. Between caring responsibilities, taking care of younger siblings and studying, life can be very busy. Caring can create worries and anxiety that prevent young carers sleeping, affect physical health and make it harder to concentrate at school. It's no wonder that young carers often achieve fewer GCSEs than their peers and are more likely to develop mental health issues in young adulthood. We believe that all children and young people deserve to grow into the happiest and healthiest people that they can be. They should have time to play and relax, be able to talk to people they trust when they feel worried, and have opportunities to develop their own solutions to their problems. Our health and wellbeing services are spaces where young carers can discuss problems with staff and each other, learn useful skills that help them better manage their caring role, and try activities that improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
